New Beers and a New Brewery Passport

Local breweries are releasing unique lagers that can only be found with a Neighborhood Brew passport for a month. Drink them while you can.

If you’re thirsty for a new adventure in downtown Colorado Springs, you’re going to love the new, monthlong Neighborhood Brewery Passport Program. Seven downtown Colorado Springs breweries are releasing seven new lagers on Jan. 14, encouraging beer buffs and lager lovers to explore a variety of unique local flavors while supporting local breweries.

“The project was hatched by Cody at Bell Brothers and Charles at Phantom Canyon. They checked with the other downtown breweries, and we all hopped on board without hesitation,” says Leif Anderson from Mash Mechanix Brewing Company. “The requirements were that each brewery brewed a different beer, but it had to be a lager brewed with Colorado grown malts.”

From citrusy to smoked and spicy, each brewery has created a unique lager with its own flavor profile and characteristics.

Participating Downtown Colorado Springs breweries and beers include:

The free passport is available at each brewery and runs from Jan. 14 through Feb. 18. Visit each brewery during the monthlong campaign, order the individual “Neighborhood Brew,” get a passport stamp and enjoy the new brew.

The more passport stamps you have, the better your chances to win on Feb. 18 at the Neighborhood Passport Party at Red Swing Brewhouse. That event culminates the Neighborhood Passport, and all seven lagers will be available. Each stamp acquired before the party makes participants eligible to win one of seven $35 gift packages supplied by each brewery and a grand prize pack containing items from all breweries.

The Neighborhood Brew Passport isn’t just about getting your hands on some delicious local brews — or prizes — though. It’s also an opportunity to explore one of downtown Colorado Springs’ trendiest neighborhoods.

The participating breweries are all within walking distance of each other, so you can take your time strolling from one spot to the next. You might even pop into a few shops along the way. Prefer to get around by bike? PikeRide, the local nonprofit e-bike share, is offering coupon code CRAFTBEER for two free electric bike trips (up to 30 minutes each) during the Neighborhood Passport month.
