The Pikes Peak region is full of courses to get your golf fix. From some prime public courses to private clubs, resorts and military-accessible courses, there’s a wide variety of options where you can hit the links. Summer is prime season, but you can golf year-round in the Springs, weather permitting. And many local courses feature expansive views of Pikes Peak. Here’s a quick rundown of some of your choices when it comes to golf courses in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region.

Golf Courses in North Colorado Springs
*Eisenhower Golf Club
While not technically a private course, you must have a Department of Defense identification card to play at Eisenhower (or be a guest of someone who does). Located on the U.S. Air Force Academy, Eisenhower features two 18-hole courses, the Blue and Silver courses, that are the only original Robert Trent Jones Sr. course designs in Colorado. The club is also home to the Academy’s intercollegiate golf team, which plays host to a Division 1 tournament each September.

*Country Club at Woodmoor
This is a tree-lined 18-hole course just east of Monument. Featuring long, narrow fairways, the Country Club at Woodmoor offers weekly leagues for members.

*Flying Horse Resort & Club
Located in Northgate, Flying Horse features two 18-hole courses, including one designed by professional golfer turned course architect Tom Weiskopf. There are two ways to play: either as a club member or as a guest at the resort.

King’s Deer Golf Club
Built in 1999 before any houses were in the area, King’s Deer is located at 7,400 feet, so you’ll find all seasons — and a healthy amount of wind — when playing this course. Trees are at a minimum. The higher elevation means a shorter playing season at King’s Deer. The greens are covered Nov. 1 to ensure the course is ready again come April.
“The links style is unique considering where we’re located,” says general manager Summer White, who also highlights the laid back and welcoming clubhouse and booming community around the course.

- 10 – Featuring the course’s trademark windmill, this downhill par 5 features the course’s largest water hazard.

Pine Creek Golf Club
Pine Creek Valley is the home to this option in Briargate. Featuring a links-style front nine and canyon-style back nine, a natural creek influences your decision making on 15 of the 18 holes.

*Kissing Camels Golf Course
Garden of the Gods Resort and Club, home of Kissing Camels, celebrates 75 years in business in 2026. Perched on the mesa overlooking Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, the course itself features three nine-hole tracks: north, west and south. Resort guests are welcome to play these stunning courses.

*Country Club of Colorado
The first design for noted golf course architect Pete Dye west of the Mississippi, this 18-hole course showcases the backdrop of Cheyenne Mountain and a 35-acre lake. Water comes into play on five of the back nine holes. The course is shared by members of the country club and guests of Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

*The Broadmoor Golf Club
Host to professional tournaments such as the U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Women’s Open throughout the years, The Broadmoor East Course is among the top courses in the country.
While the East Course gets well-deserved attention, the West Course presents a challenge all its own. Pro tip: When on the greens at The Broadmoor, the rule of thumb is that everything breaks away from the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun.
To play either course, you’ll need to be overnight guest of the hotel or a guest of a member.

Central Springs Golf Courses
Patty Jewett Golf Course
Built in 1898, Patty Jewett is one of the oldest golf courses west of the Mississippi River. City-owned since 1919, an 18-hole course (Peaks and Plains) plus an accompanying nine-hole option (Prairie) wind their way through the historic neighborhood. You can feel you’re playing the grande dame of the region right from the drive in, which is through a wrought-iron gate and down a narrow road lined with a canopy of trees.
“It’s a very memorable experience due to the historic nature of the course and the clubhouse,” says golf division manager Jarod Clayton. “And people come back because of the value.”
Patty Jewett is one of, if not the, busiest public courses in the area. Make your tee times well ahead and be patient with those in front of you. And make time to explore the clubhouse , built in 1909, before or after your round. Don’t miss the Patty Jewett Bar & Grill.
Notable Holes
- 1 – Headed right toward Pikes Peak, this straightaway par-5 begins your round.
- 17 – With the tee box right next to the clubhouse, keep your cool on this par-4 to find the fairway.
- 18 – With the historic clubhouse as the backdrop, a forced carry on your approach makes for a very pretty finishing hole.

*Colorado Springs Country Club
Located near Palmer Park, Colorado Springs Country Club offers a challenging, tree-lined layout. Multiple associations and tournaments offer playing options for every member of the family.

Golf Courses on the East Side
Antler Creek Golf Course
Antler Creek winds through the Woodmen Hills and Meridian Ranch communities north of Falcon and features three lakes and 73 bunkers. With six tees to pick from, the course is suitable for many skill levels.

Cherokee Ridge Golf Course
Open since 1971, Cherokee Ridge is one of the most accessible courses for those living in eastern Colorado Springs. Featuring a nine-hole course with split tees if you want to play 18, Cherokee Ridge also offers a par-3 course. That track is a great option for kids and those just learning the game.
Head professional Paul Young notes that the course is known for its fast and true greens, as well as relatively narrow fairways. The Cherokee Ridge practice area is also prized — a two-tiered driving range, large practice green and a bunker/chipping area are all available.

- 2 – A par-5 dogleg left, working your way slightly downhill as you go.
- 7 – A long uphill par-3, with a green that will get your attention.
- 8 – The most downhill hole on the course, this par-4 offers the opportunity to cut the dogleg left by clearing a grove of trees.
- BONUS: Par-3 Course – Holes 6 through 8 are the most challenging on this layout, and No. 8 requires clearing a small lake.

Started in 1977 by PGA Professional Mark Fontana, World Golf and Sand Creek features a 9-hole executive length golf course, lighted driving range, and extensive fitting and retail options.

Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club
Located on Fort Carson near Gate 5 off Highway 115, Cheyenne Shadows is an 18-hole course that features great views of Cheyenne Mountain. Civilians can play Cheyenne Shadows, but you must apply for a pass to get on base.

Valley Hi Golf Course
Acquired in 1975 as the second of the two city-owned courses, Valley Hi is an 18-hole course located in southeast Colorado Springs.
The clubhouse, opened in 1957 as part of a then-private country club, is a bit of an architectural anomaly. A lift-slab construction, the building was erected by pouring large concrete slabs and columns and then hydraulically lifting each floor into place at their final elevations. That same 1950’s architecture can be seen in the nearby homes visible from the course. Both Patty Jewett and Valley Hi have recently received new irrigation systems.
“Value is the focus at Valley Hi,” says golf division manager Jarod Clayton, who calls the course approachable and affordable. “You feel that you’re getting more than what you’re paying.”
Valley Hi is also the El Paso County home course for the First Tee of Southern Colorado, which seeks to empower kids and teens through golf. They make use of the four-hole short course available at Valley Hi.
Pro tip: Don’t pass up Caddie’s clubhouse restaurant.

- 1 – A surprisingly tricky tee shot gets you off and running — again, toward Pikes Peak — on this par-5.
- 5 – A lengthy par-3 with a deep green that requires a precise shot to have a look at birdie.
- 9 – A dogleg right with trees in play should you wish to cut the corner, this par-4 puts the clubhouse in view.
- 18 – It’s an uphill finishing hole at Valley Hi, with a sloped and elevated green.

More Golf Courses in the Pikes Peak Region
Four Mile Golf Course
Designed around the desert landscape and hogback ridges that snake through the Cañon City area, Four Mile Ranch does not have a single bunker on the course.
Director of Golf Operations Kevin Marushack notes that many of the greens have high points on both sides with funnels in the middle. These “bowled greens” mean the course sees many holes-in-one. The reward that awaits? A special hole-in-one shot glass.
Four Mile Ranch is also a good option during the winter months, as Cañon City will often be warmer than Colorado Springs. You’ll spot deer and the occasional elk on the course. And if you play in the fall, you may see a surprise guest: tarantulas on their annual migration.

- 8 – This drivable par-4 has an elevated tee. Big hitters go for the green, especially if there is a prevailing west wind.
- 12 – Another elevated tee begins this par-3, which features the largest green on the course. This is also the first time players see the Arkansas River Valley laid out before them.
- 15 – Featuring a hard dogleg right and a blind approach if you go for the green in two, this par-5 features a choke point in the fairway that requires a solid tee ball.

Shining Mountain Golf Course
Set among spectacular pine trees and wetlands north of Woodland Park, Shining Mountain offers a challenging layout. It’s the only golf course in Teller County, and dramatic elevation changes on several holes lead to extensive mathematical calculations for golfers of any level.
