Favorite Sledding Hills in North Colorado Springs
John Venezia Community Park
On the southern border of the large Briargate park lies a geologically-sculpted screaming sled hill. You’ll want deep snowpack to smooth the rugged hillside below the Academy International Elementary School. Then expect a rollicking ride.

Cottonwood Creek Park
The big community park includes good downward grades and long runs that guarantee speed. Park at the Rec Center, and find lots of wide open space for the crowds to spread out and shred on that sled.

Woodmoor Commons Toboggan Hill
The wide, moderate slopes begin in the hillside trees and empty into long, open run-outs in the wide field below. Parking is tight, so respect private property if the small lot is full.

Kathleen O’Neill Marriage Park
Named for the historic, pioneering master gardener who helped found the Colorado Springs and Broadmoor garden clubs, this small neighborhood park harbors a steep sled hill near its entrance. Helmets and brakes are advised.

Eugene McCleary Park
The small neighborhood park offers a gentle slope and lots of open space next to Freedom Elementary School.

Wide, moderate slopes at this east-side neighborhood park make it great for sledding with families and younger kids.

With lots of big open sports fields, you’ve got lots of space to spread out. This isn’t the steepest snow hill, but the long slope gives you plenty of time to build momentum and speed.

Village Green Park
The big, wide slope makes this a favorite east-side sled hill near Palmer Park. Bonus: Slice 420’s east location is only 1 mile away for after-sledding pizza.

Top Spots for Westside Snow Sledding

Bear Creek Regional Park
This Westside classic is a perfect and popular spot for young kids to sled. More wide than long, the hills provide plenty of room to spread out and let kids lap the run till blissful exhaustion or meltdown set in, whichever comes first.

Howbert Elementary School
When the snow flies, kids pour out of the Pleasant Valley neighborhood to fly down the steep hill from 30th Street down to the school playground below.

The rugged hills surrounding the Westside school are made for speed on a sled. No wonder adventurous sledders love it.

There’s a lot of open, slanted space surrounding the entrance to the Hewlett Packard campus, making this a local favorite. Pick your grade. Build your jumps. And slip and slide to your heart’s content.

Favorite Sledding Hills on Colorado Springs South Side
Van Diest Park
Wide open space and a mellow slope toward the playground make this a Southeast Springs neighborhood go-to for sledding. It’s right next to Carmel Community School.

Mesa Ridge High School
This Fountain high school has lots of open space, parking and a steep, wide hill where you can bomb toward the sports fields. It’s one of the most popular snow hills for good reason.

Quail Lake Park
Above the playground just west of the lake, you’ll find a steep bomber run that will satisfy your need for speed on the south-side.

The Broadmoor Bluffs neighborhood is nothing but hills. This small 4-acre park provides the open field space to get your sled on across from Cheyenne Mountain Elementary School.
