If you can’t be in the stadium on game day, it’s hard to beat a good sports bar for a festive atmosphere to cheer on your team. You can still get some of that roar-of-the-crowd energy, along with camaraderie that comes from high-fiving total strangers. If your team falls short, God forbid, you get a human connection for commiseration that beats ugly crying alone in your basement. And when it comes to the best sports bars, you get to enjoy great food (wings, nachos and juicy burgers required), killer drink specials and plenty of big-screen TVs.
At the best of the best sports bars, you’ve got to have some next-level perks, including some or all of these:
-
- pool tables, darts or arcade games for halftime entertainment (or blowout losses)
- rooftop or patio space with heaters for winter viewing
- great, friendly service no matter who you’re rooting for
- team memorabilia and decor — bonus if it’s the home bar for a local fan club, whether that’s for the Broncos, Avs or some other inferior, out-of-state team
- full access game streaming all year round — we’re talking football, hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball, golf, NASCAR, Formula 1, UFC, cycling, surfing, rugby, cricket, you name it
- good vibes and great energy.
If that doesn’t get you pumped for kickoff, check your pulse.
