There’s a New Colorado Springs Fashion Week

Local designers will be showcasing their styles in a series of events that include a runway show. Here are the details.

Colorado Springs has a new Fashion Week coming next week. The self-described first-ever Colorado Springs Fashion Week (COSFW) happens June 24 – July 1. The event will feature four days of events, including three outdoor fashion crawls, a day-time vendor market and a grand finale runway show.

“We’re so excited to bring Colorado Springs Fashion Week to the city,” said Colorado Springs Fashion Week creator Jaime Taylor in a press release. “We have an amazing lineup of designers, and we can’t wait to showcase their collections on the runway.”

The Fashion Week lineup of designers includes Skye Barker Maa of Skye|Aire, Janelle Irby, Yulia Boozer and many others. “It’s great to see the fashion scene in Colorado Springs growing,” local designer Jack Weakly said. “COSFW is a great opportunity for designers to showcase their work and bring attention to the city’s fashion community.”

The fashion crawls will provide people with opportunities to explore the boutiques and shops and discover new designers in Manitou Springs on June 26, Old Colorado City on June 28 and downtown Colorado Springs on June 30.

There will be a vendor market on Saturday, July 1, featuring Knob Hill Urban Arts and its featured artists, designers and boutiques. Attendees can shop the local vendors, browse the art scene and enjoy delicious fare from a variety of local food trucks. The vendor market is free and runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The COSFW grand finale happens downtown Saturday night, July 1, with a traditional runway show. A wide variety of designers will showcase their latest collections. And the ticketed event includes a red carpet entrance, step and repeat show and photographers on hand to capture the looks. An after-party follows at CO.A.T.I.

According to the COSFW website, Jaime Taylor enjoyed a 20-year career in the fashion industry that included success as a runway and print fashion model in the early 2000s. Originally from Denver, she now hopes to celebrate the colorful culture of Colorado Springs. The mission behind COSFW is to inspire creativity and promote social and environmental responsibility in the industry and Colorado Springs community. The organization also says its goals include supporting humanitarian and philanthropic causes.
