People’s Choice: Best Coffee Shops in Colorado Springs

A good cup of coffee is one of life’s simple pleasures. Here are your winners from our People’s Choice Awards.

A good coffee shop is more than just a spot to grab your morning caffeine. It’s a third space — a comfort spot that can be a home away from home or go-to hangout. The baristas might know you by name. Maybe you get some work done or meet friends, business associates or dates. It’s the vibe that feels right to you, and, of course, the coffee drinks have to be good.

So what’s the best coffee shop in Colorado Springs? You voted in our annual People’s Choice Awards, and here are the Top 3 and Winner.

Dutch Bros

If only they could bottle all that positivity and enthusiasm inside those tiny drive-thru Dutch Bros coffehouses. Oh wait, they do! And we collectively love them for it, lining up daily in our cars for some sugar-bomb latte, blended bevy or straight-up Americano. No matter what you’re drinking, you know you’re going to get greeted with a big smile and friendly small talk that leaves you feeling just a little bit more like, Yeah, I got this. With 13 Dutch Bros around town, it’s no wonder those bro-istas are everybody’s best friend.

The Exchange

The Exchange on Tejon is an O.G. that has seen the hot downtown Trolley Block and New South End grow up around it. This is a coffee shop and more. It’s a full breakfast and brunch hot spot with a large menu of savory dishes and baked goodies. And yes, there’s a bar too when you want more than coffee — or with your coffee. Stop by on a Pastelito Wednesday for a Cuban coffee and pastry for $5. And watch for live music on the weekends.
