Three New Dog Parks

In 2018 Travel and Leisure named Colorado Springs one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country. And that was before these three new dog parks in the Pikes Peak region.

Falcon Dog Park

The 10-acre Falcon Dog Park opened in March with 8 acres for large dogs and 2 acres designated for small dogs, plus a half-mile path for humans. Find it at Falcon Regional Park, 11050 Eastonville Road, Falcon.

Fountain Creek Dog Park

Fountain Creek Regional Park is also home to a new 3-acre off-leash area with a .3-mile trail. Of course, you can always walk Fido on-leash along the Fountain Creek Regional Trail or around the 460-acre park. Find it at 2010 Duckwood Road, Fountain.

Golden Meadows Dog Park

Up the pass, Woodland Park’s Golden Meadows Dog Park is scheduled to open in June, thanks to Girl Scout Bianca Bryant. The high school student has worked since 2017 to earn her prestigious Gold Award by creating a “permanent, beneficial feature for her community.” Named for her two beloved golden retrievers, the dog park is located at the north-side Meadow Wood Sports Complex, 2000 Evergreen Heights Drive, Woodland Park.

Susan Davies, executive director of Trails and Open Space Coalition, calls the new dog parks a big deal. “Our organization is delighted to have people using the parks,” she says. Dogs too.
