4 Fun Dates in Colorado Springs

Try these itineraries to make an impression on someone special. Valentine’s Day is in the air, but these are good any time of year.

So you want to make an impression on someone special? Get to know a new interest but keep it casual? Find something new to do with your significant other? Try these fun date ideas in Colorado Springs and around town. Valentine’s Day is in the air. But these fun dates are good any time of year.

Make an Impression in Manitou Springs

Go for quaint and quirky in the historic enclave. Share a flight of beers with dinner at Manitou Brewing Co. Then walk a few blocks to the Penny Arcade; they have over 400 games, some dating back to the 1930s.

Pampering over pinball? Soothe yourselves in a mineral water soak at the SunWater Spa, or treat her to a massage or therapeutic treatment.

Enamored on the Eastside

Start at The First Tee of Pikes Peak, an indoor golf facility open to the public November through May, where the two of you can play (for better or worse) in golf simulators or full-size putting and chipping greens. Get competitive or poke fun at each other. Afterward, head to nearby Loonees Comedy Corner to finish the night with libations and laughs.

Want to go with a group? Join friends to play five-on-five WhirlyBall, a wild concoction of basketball, lacrosse and bumper cars. Enjoy the menu beforehand—definitely beers, because WhirlyBall was clearly invented by a drunk.

Are You Down?

Dine downtown with a reservation at The Rabbit Hole. The underground escape offers creative modern cuisine with an atmosphere of energy and mystique. Next, catch a live production at the Pikes Peak Center—Broadway? comedy? concert? the Philharmonic? Take your pick from the widely varied schedule. Or head for the silver screen at the arthouse Kimball’s Peak Three Theatre, the one with the retro marquee and wine bar.

Discuss amongst yourselves. You can’t end on a show. Use it as material for conversation over cocktails at Lee Spirits’ speakeasy, Brooklyn’s on Boulder.

Ski Bunnies and Snow Mooses?…Meese?…Moose.

Surprise your sweetheart with some indoor skiing. It’s a real thing, and you can find it at Ski Maxx. They have tilted treadmills covered with carpet that mimics powder and you—just Google it. After the novel experience, take your ski bunny or snow moose to Trinity Brewing, just down the street on Garden of the Gods Rd.

Take it outside. After fueling up on Trinity’s menu—if it’s going well, of course—continue the evening with a short hike up Pulpit Rock for an adventure through otherworldly terrain and a romantic view.
