It’s that time of year when everyone’s Irish—or gets to celebrate like they are. Kick off the spring celebration at the big St. Patrick’s Day Parade and 5K / Leprechaun Fun Run down Tejon Street. And get your green on and to celebrate the luck of the Irish at all of the St. Patrick’s Day events in Colorado Springs. Many of the big celebrations happen the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day, so don’t miss out. And you can always get in the Irish mood at one of the Favorite Irish Pubs in Colorado Springs.

The downtown Irish pub is throwing its St. Patrick’s Day Big Bash all day long. From opening at 8 a.m. to closing at 11:30 p.m., there is a full schedule of live entertainment and plenty of Irish food and drink. Catch traditional Irish tunes, drinking songs, fiddling, Celtic rock and more from bands including Wirewood Station, Nerea the Fiddler, The McDeviants and more. And, of course, the pub is located on the parade route.
For a bonus, join Jack Quinn’s Thursday night March 16 for its 25th Birthday Celebration. Brian Clancy will bring the live music, and beer and whiskey prices will roll back to 1998, when the beloved Irish pub began. Jack Quinn’s will also be serving special Irish dishes and live music all month long.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The green just doesn’t stop. This is one of the largest parades in the Springs, and it has been marching. With a chance for good weather, the revelers turn out, and the green keeps flowing down Tejon Street, from St. Vrain Street to Vermijo Street, beginning at noon.
Wear your Irish best and join the lucky thousands as the parade marches on in its 39th year. You can buy tickets for Grand Stand seating or just get there early to get your spot along the curb. There’s a whole collection of related events, but keep reading for those.

5K for St. Patrick’s Day

Lace up your running shoes and put on your green running gear to kick off the St. Patrick’s Day festivities downtown. The downtown course is flat and fast, speeding through the downtown area.
While you can run solo, group participation is encouraged through the Corporate Cup for businesses, the Military Cup for active-duty military members and the Four-Leaf Clover Four-Pack for any group of four. Make sure to stay after the race to watch the kids race in the annual Leprechaun Fun Run.

Kids and adults alike can embrace their inner mythical being at the annual Leprechaun Fun Run. The race starts at 11 a.m. and you can choose between a half-mile or a mile course. It’s always fun to watch the kids go all out for glory. Be sure to stick around afterward for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Pedalin’ St. Pat’s 30K and 50K Ride

If biking is your thing, join the Pedalin’ St. Pat’s for a festive group ride. You have two course options. The Intermediate 30K option (about 21 miles) follows paved paths in a loop near Garden of the Gods. The Challenging 50 K (about 31 miles) also follows a paved route through Garden of the Gods. Be sure to decorate your bike and ride in costume.
