Comfort and Joy Cat Cafe

Comfort and Joy Cat Cafe adds a cozy haven for cat lovers and adoptable cats downtown.

Downtown Colorado Springs is welcoming a charming new addition to its community of locally owned businesses. Founded by Sharon Mullally and Carol Lawrence Guinta, Comfort and Joy Cat Cafe has a dual mission: to provide a calming space for cat lovers and to help cats find their fur-ever homes. Partnering with Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS), the cafe can host up to eight cats at a time. With the exception of the owners’ resident cat, Ruby, all other cats are available for adoption.

“We wanted to create a space where people can connect with cats in a home-like environment, helping reduce the cats’ stress and allowing their personalities to shine,” says co-owner Mullally. “This not only enhances the experience for visitors but also increases the chances of adoption.”

Comfort and Joy Cat Cafe will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, Sept. 6, at 4-7 p.m. The event will offer attendees a chance to explore the cat lounge, meet the resident felines, and enjoy various festivities. The grand opening will feature a ribbon cutting at 3:30 p.m., live music, food trucks, henna tattoos and more.

Comfort and Joy is open daily, except Tuesday. Lounge sessions can be booked online, with walk-up sessions available as well.
