Young voices. One stage. A shared experience you won’t forget.

The Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale invites you to the In Harmony Festival Concert—a powerful celebration of music, community, and the transformative impact of singing together.

On April 22 at the Pikes Peak Center, students from across the Pikes Peak region will come together for an evening that reflects months of dedication, collaboration, and growth. Representing schools from across the region and joined by members of the Children’s Chorale, these young performers take the stage not just as individuals—but as a unified, inspired ensemble.

Under the direction of Festival Conductor and Artistic Director Lori Bammesberger, this culminating performance showcases the depth, discipline, and artistry that music education makes possible, bringing together 10 area choirs in a special collaboration with the Ovation Orchestra of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony. Guest conductor Kobe Achu, Cadet First Class and Cadet Choir Director at the U.S. Air Force Academy, will lead O America as part of the program. The concert features Amazing by Pinkzebra, alongside America the Beautiful and O America, honoring our nation’s 250th anniversary and lifting up a message of hope through the voices of the next generation.

More than a concert, In Harmony is a reflection of what happens when young people are given the opportunity to grow together—through three days of workshops, rehearsals, and shared purpose. As a cornerstone outreach program of the Children’s Chorale, the festival creates space for connection, confidence, and community across schools and backgrounds.

Join us for an evening that celebrates the art of singing—and the power of young voices to bring people together.

Written by William Shakespeare and Directed by Max Shulman.

These violent delights have violent ends. In his first production as Theatreworks’ Artistic Director, Max Shulman (An Iliad, Free-for-All: Pericles, Henry IV & V) returns to the Bard with a bold new vision of Romeo & Juliet. This fresh take on Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy marks a full-circle moment—honoring Theatreworks’ very first Shakespeare production in 1976. Passion, violence, and poetry collide in this electric staging, proving that the tale of star-crossed lovers is as urgent, dangerous, and heartbreaking as ever.

UCCS students are always free. Contact the box office in person or by phone with your student ID to reserve seats.

This production contains violence, suicide, and themes of intergenerational trauma. As each audience member is different, we don't make age recommendations, but if you have questions about the material or wish to read a copy of the work in advance, please email theatreworks@uccs.edu.

In 1776, the United States declared its independence and became a country. In 1876, Colorado joined the 100-year-old country as the 38th state.

These historical moments are converging in 2026 to celebrate the joint milestones of Colorado’s 150 years of statehood and 250 years since our nation’s founding. Over the years, Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) played a strong role in serving the entire community, from the establishment of our first public library in 1887 (before PPLD officially formed!), to the opening of the Carnegie Library where Penrose Library now stands in 1905, to its newest location, Calhan Library, which opened in 2019.

PPLD is joining the national – and statewide – celebration with open houses and an invitation to visit all 14 Library locations, Regional History & Genealogy, and our three bookmobiles to win prizes, learn more about each branch, and celebrate as a community.

So let’s make history…together.

This spring, the Colorado Springs Conservatory invites you into a world of beauty, movement, and transformation.

Metamorphoses, based on the myths of Ovid and adapted by Mary Zimmerman, is brought to life by the Conservatory’s High School Preparatory Program (grades 9-12) with an ensemble of extraordinary young artists. Intimate in scale yet expansive in imagination, this production is a true showcase of emerging talent, discipline, and artistry.

Metamorphoses is a celebration of change—not as something to fear, but as something beautiful. A reminder that kindness matters. That love has power. That even in uncertainty, we are always becoming something new. Set against a fluid, visually stunning stage, these ancient Greek and Roman myths unfold through a seamless blend of storytelling, physical movement, and emotional depth. Each story reveals a moment of profound transformation where love, loss, longing, and grace reshape the human experience in surprising and often breathtaking ways.

There is humor. There is heartbreak. But above all, there is hope.

Fresh, luminous, and deeply moving, this is the perfect theatrical experience for spring—a season of renewal, growth, and possibility.
