    Talk to these men and women and you’ll hear: “I’m just doing my job” or “We have an excellent team.” But what comes through loud and clear is their passion for the intricate detail and enormous challenge of their craft and, ultimately, their compassion for patients and desire to change people’s lives.

    That’s why we’re honoring these 10 medical professionals with our inaugural Healthcare Heroes Awards. Nominated by their peers, associates or patients, each has gone above and beyond the call of duty in exemplary ways. Some have saved lives. Some have poured out generously from their own lives. All have impacted lives around them and made Colorado Springs a healthier, better community. For this, they are heroes.
