The new Mediterranean restaurant Latin Social has opened downtown on North Tejon Street next door to Sushi Row. It’s the latest concept from the team behind Ambli Global, which has been a recurring star on Springs Magazine’s 30 Best Restaurants list for its sophisticated global flavors. Latin Social extends that reputation with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine, drawing inspiration from France, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Turkey.
Chef and co-owner Ricardo Morffin created a menu that leans into the spirit of gathering, blending soulful flavors with refined presentation. Guests will find plates designed for sharing alongside more substantial entrées, all reflecting the culinary traditions of regions where meals are built around family, food and connection. The elevated menu offers a diverse range, from street food and sushi sharables, such as Karahi Samosas and Ahi Tuna Tataki, to entrees that include a Kebab Platter, Ambli Indian Classics and NY Strip Carne Asada.
The name reflects the philosophy. Latin culture, rooted in both romance and heritage, carries an energy of celebration. The restaurant channels that ethos through vibrant flavors, an emphasis on hospitality and an atmosphere that encourages conversation.
One of Latin Social’s most distinctive offerings is Tea Time, a weekday afternoon service designed as a pause between the workday and evening. Light drinks and small bites are paired with an environment that makes space for both solitude and community. Guests might use the time to journal, read or work quietly, while others gather with friends — all in a setting created to feel restorative rather than rushed.
With its thoughtful approach to both food and ambiance, Latin Social adds another layer to downtown’s evolving dining scene while keeping the focus on what its founders do best — creating experiences that bring people together.
