Masala Mingle

A familiar downtown space has been given new life with the bold spices and rich traditions of North Indian cuisine. Masala Mingle, which opened May 2 in the former China Town Restaurant location, has brought global flavors to the downtown Colorado Springs dining scene.

Owners Jasdeep Kaur Mand and Amarpal Singh Mand are no strangers to the restaurant world. They own restaurants in Minnesota, but this is their first venture in Colorado. Drawn in by the energy and charm of downtown, they saw the location not just as a business opportunity, but as a way to connect their culture with a new community.

Originally from Punjab, a state in northern India, the couple brings a cooking style rooted in family recipes and regional traditions known for aromatic spices, tandoori cooking and comforting, hearty dishes. The menu reflects that heritage, featuring crispy, golden samosas, creamy chicken tikka masala, and a lineup of sizzling tandoori appetizers. Their Indian-style pasta and wraps add a playful twist, blending familiar formats with vibrant Indian flavor.

Inside, the space has been given a modern makeover. The new decor creates a warm, contemporary setting designed to make guests feel at home. Even those new to Indian cuisine will find the menu inviting, with approachable options and an approachable amount of heat.
