Milkshake Factory

The century-old Milkshake Factory is coming to Colorado Springs, bringing a new ice cream shop the Springs north side.

A taste of nostalgia is coming to northern Colorado Springs this spring as the Milkshake Factory prepares to open at the Highlands at Briargate near Briargate Parkway and Chapel Hills Drive.

A grand opening will take place from noon- 4 p.m. on April 26 with BOGO offers on all milkshakes and sundaes. Guests are invited to join special opening-day offer, along with a live DJ, free limited edition Colorado Springs-themed MilkShake Factory t-shirts, and chocolate samples.

The brand began as a Pittsburgh chocolate shop and soda fountain in 1914. Local franchise owners Jon and Micayla Bahr wanted to bring the century-old concept to the community they love. “We are excited to bring this concept to the Springs, and we hope to be a premier dessert destination that creates a fun environment for everyone and puts smiles on their faces,” Micayla says.

Located across from Dave & Buster’s and Chuy’s, the Milkshake Factory will feature handspun milkshakes from house-made ice cream and a variety of delicious ingredients. For example, the signature Campfire S’mores shake combines crunchy honey grahams, crispy marshmallows and semi-sweet chocolate chips, finished with melted fudge, toasted marshmallow creme and a s’mores pop. The menu caters to specialized dietary needs, including dairy-free alternatives and allergy-friendly options. Beyond shakes, customers can explore an array of sundaes and artisanal chocolates.

For the Bahrs, who are transitioning from corporate careers, the venture represents an opportunity to deepen their community involvement.
