Colorado Springs is getting more Coke. In December, the Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corporation announced that Swire Coca-Cola, USA selected Southeast Colorado Springs as the location for its new manufacturing facility. The company will make a $475 million capital investment that will generate an estimated 170 new jobs.
“We’re excited to welcome 170 new jobs to Colorado Springs through Swire Coca-Cola, USA’s expansion in the community,” said Governor Jared Polis. “This new facility will help support the local economy, and we’re glad Swire Coca-Cola, USA chose to expand their business in Colorado.”
Headquartered in Utah, the company manufactures, distributes, and sells Coca-Cola and other beverage brands in 13 Western states. The company employs 1,300 people in Colorado. It will consolidate and modernize its production operations into the new bottling facility at Peak Innovation Park, near the Colorado Springs Airport, which will help the company meet its long-term growth and sustainability goals.
Swire Coca-Cola, USA plans to break ground on its new 620,000-square-foot facility in 2026. It will pursue LEED Gold certification for its new state-of-the-art facility. The new facility will replace its current 90-year-old production plant in Denver, and it will provide its employees with a modern working environment, meet rising customer demand and advance its sustainability goals. This includes world class energy and water efficiency performance. The plant will produce more than 230 beverage options across 60-plus brands, including sparkling soft drinks, waters, teas, juice drinks and sports beverages.
“Swire Coca-Cola, USA’s manufacturing investment speaks to the strength of our workforce and the trajectory of the Pikes Peak region,” said Bonnie Goff, Vice President of Economic Development at the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC. “The direct jobs on site — and the indirect jobs supported at local suppliers, building contractors, service providers and everyday businesses — will fuel economic growth, support small businesses and create more opportunity for families across Colorado Springs and El Paso County.”
