In Jan. 2023, the Colorado Springs city council approved the plans for Sunset Amphitheater, an 8,000-seat open-air entertainment complex in North Colorado Springs.
The theater is on schedule to host its first performance in the summer of 2024 and has plans to host between 30 and 40 big-time acts each year between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The site is zoned for concerts to run until 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:30 p.m. on weekends.
Besides hosting a range of entertainment and performers, Sunset Amphitheater will also house traditional and self-service concessions, walk-up bars, and VIP service. Plus, Notes Live, the company behind Sunset Amphitheater, has confirmed in recent reporting to What Now Denver that the complex will offer three to four full-service restaurant spaces.
Among the proposed full-service restaurants will be a two-story eatery and rooftop bar. Notes Live has planned to feature ROTH Seafood and Chophouse on the first level of the restaurant and a high-end specialty bar on the second floor. On the roof, guests can find a bar and stunning views of Pikes Peak.
