2. Red Rock Canyon Open Space

For more outdoor adventure, head to Red Rock Canyon Open Space. With over 1,400 acres of stunning terrain, you can hike, mountain bike, rock climb (with a free permit) or even go horseback riding through beautiful red rock formations and open hillsides.

Check out the calendar for your closest library and attend a variety of free events, story times, club meetups and workshops. 5. Take a Self-Guided Tour of Old Colorado City

Stroll along brick-paved sidewalks, admire historic architecture, explore unique shops and boutiques, and discover some rich local history in Old Colorado City. Learn about the area’s days as the first capital of the Territory of Colorado when you visit the free OCC History Center. 11. Museum Free Days at the Fine Arts Center

Twice a month on the second Saturday and third Friday every month, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College welcomes guests to explore the cultural attraction at no cost. Even though entry is free, you still have free range of the museum’s permanent, interactive and special exhibits.
