You might remember our feature COS Creek Plan Reimagines Colorado Springs Waterways describing the placemaking, comprehensive plans to revitalize the Fountain Creek Watershed and change the complexion of Colorado Springs. Those efforts were always going to be a decades-long effort to restore the natural functions of Monument and Fountain creeks while improving flood resilience, recreation opportunities and environmental health. But are taking a step forward, and residents are invited to attend upcoming open houses for the COS Creek Plan.
This phase of the project is the COS Creek Plan Feasibility Study, a collaborative effort between the City of Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Waterways and Colorado Springs Utilities.
The study is evaluating solutions to:
- Restore ecosystem health
- Reduce flood risk
- Improve water quality
- Enhance parks, trails, and community access
Community members are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming open houses:
June 24, 2026 | 5-6:30 p.m.
UCCS Downtown Campus
102 S. Tejon St.
July 15, 2026 | 5-6:30 p.m.
Colorado Springs Police Department – Gold Hills Community Room
955 W. Moreno Ave.
The informal, drop-in events will provide an opportunity to review project information, speak with the project team, and share feedback that will help inform future recommendations. A brief presentation will begin at approximately 5:20 p.m., but attendees may arrive at any time during the event.
While the project is currently in the planning phase and no physical changes are occurring yet, community feedback will play a key role in guiding future improvements.
Online COS Creek Plan Open House
For those unable to attend in person, a self-guided online open house is available at coscreekplanopenhouse.com.
The online open house includes the same information as the in-person events but gives the public an opportunity to share feedback at any time until July 15, 2026.
Input collected during this process will help inform next steps, including potential future partnerships and funding opportunities that could support project design and construction.
