Goodie Bag, the Colorado-based app connecting people to unsold local food at a discount, has announced a partnership with Elevated Huts, the largest Cheba Hut franchisee in Colorado with 18 locations.

The partnership began with a pilot program earlier this year at one of its Denver location, which allowed both teams to fine-tune its operations. The full rollout took place in October 2025 in all the Cheba Hut locations in Colorado, including the Springs.

The partnership is expected to save thousands of meals from going to waste each year. “We used to have perfectly good food that was going to waste, so we love the solution Goodie Bag provides us to reduce waste, provide affordable food, and connect Cheba Hut with more people in our community,” says David Timmons, CEO of Elevated Huts. “We also like that they are a Colorado based company with deep ties to our community.”

Goodie Bag started in Boulder, and Cheba Hut is headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado. You can read our feature about Goodie Bag here and their programs in Colorado Springs.

“When I was a student at CU Boulder I became a huge fan of their subs, and always respected their bold and playful branding,” says Eddy Connors, Goodie Bag co-founder and CEO. “So it’s fair to say Cheba Hut was always a dream partner for us, and it’s dope to see it come to fruition.”

Founded in 1998 in Tempe, Arizona, Cheba Hut has spent more than 27 years “curing munchies” with over 30 signature subs, craft beer bars featuring neighborhood breweries, and a one-of-a-kind vibe. Through Goodie Bag, Colorado Cheba Hut locations are offering everything from their legendary munchies to dank subs, and creative uses of their left-over bread to ensure every bite of good food is enjoyed, not wasted.

Goodie Bag, launched in Colorado in 2023, helps local shops recover costs on unsold items and gives customers access to high-quality food at an affordable price, preventing food waste and supporting small businesses along the way. Goodie Bag has since expanded to multiple states and continues to grow with local restaurants.

Together, Goodie Bag and Cheba Hut are proving that supporting local and reducing food waste go hand in hand.
