The Halal Guys

From NYC to COS, The Halal Guys are opening in the Interquest neighborhood.

The Halal Guys got their start in 1990 when they opened a hot dog cart in New York City. But the three Egyptian founders quickly pivoted to sell halal food to Muslim taxi drivers who had few options that met Islamic dietary laws. The fanbase grew quickly for their American halal food, and the chain now has franchises across the United States and in the United Kingdom and Asia. Known for their chicken platters, gyros and falafel, the Halal Guys are now coming to Colorado Springs. The menu also features sides that include hummus and baba ghanoush and desserts, such as baklava. And catering is available.

The new restaurant in the Interquest area will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Feb. 22. The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m., and the first 100 people will receive a free small platter. Free swag includes Halal Guys apparel and tote bags, as well as coupons and discount cards. And you can enter win electronics, including a 55-inch TV, Nintendo Switch, JBL Flip Speaker and more.

The Halal Guys are also hosting a food drive with Care and Share from Feb. 22 through Feb. 28. You can view the list of recommended items at the Facebook event page.
