A fast-changing stretch of east Colorado Springs will soon welcome a slate of new businesses and hundreds of apartments as part of a large-scale development known as Woodmen East.
Now underway, the 40-acre site is located at the corner of Woodmen Road and Mohawk Road. The project by Casco Construction will be anchored by a 368-unit multifamily complex, bringing new housing options to a part of the city that’s growing rapidly. In addition to residential space, the development will expand retail access for nearby neighborhoods. Confirmed tenants for the first phase include Chick-fil-A, Midas Car Care Center, Murphy Oil, Taco Express and a new 12,000-square-foot retail center.
Groundbreaking took place in early April. Casco anticipates that curbs and roads will be completed by October and vertical construction will begin soon after. The project is designed to help bridge the gap between Falcon and Colorado Springs, and the area is drawing growing interest from both residents and businesses. Developers say Woodmen East will play an important role in supporting eastward expansion while delivering convenient new amenities to the community.
