Painted Tree Boutique

Painted Tree Boutique brings local goods to the Springs east side.

In a twist of retail fate, a former Bed Bath & Beyond at Powers and South Carefree now houses hundreds of local makers and artisans under one roof, bringing locally owned businesses to a corridor dominated by retail chains. Painted Tree Boutique, which opened in November 2024, showcases 180 vendor spaces and represents more than 275 local makers, a big win for small businesses. The brand describes itself as an “Etsy marketplace and Pinterest catalog come to life.”

Painted Tree Boutique first opened as a small vintage market in 2015 in Bryant, Arkansas, and has quickly grown; the Colorado Springs store is home to Painted Tree Boutique’s 50th location. The marketplace represents the company’s second Colorado store — the first was in Northglenn — and it continues the brand’s rapid expansion, with six additional locations launching since the Springs store opened.

Shoppers will find familiar local products alongside emerging businesses selling everything from artisanal honey and handmade pottery to boutique clothing and children’s items. Established local brands, including Pikes Peak Lemonade, have found a new home in the space. The satellite location allows the company to expand its reach from downtown Colorado Springs to residents living on the north and east sides of the city.

Painted Tree Boutique is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The marketplace provides a year-round destination for shoppers wanting to shop local.
